# Instalation & First Steps

This page explains the basic installation process and important checks that apply to most YourMAPS maps, MLOs, props, and RedM resources.

Before opening a support ticket, please read this page carefully and check the specific documentation page for the product you are installing.

### First Steps

Before installing any YourMAPS product, make sure you have downloaded the correct resource from the official source, such as Tebex, CFX Portal, or another official YourMAPS delivery method.

Always check the files included with the resource. Some products may include extra notes, optional versions, compatibility files, or a `README` / `README_FIRST` file with important instructions.

Please do not rename the resource folder unless the documentation specifically says it is safe.

Some resources depend on internal paths, streamed files, YTYP names, YMAP references, or escrow structure. Renaming the folder can cause problems such as missing textures, interiors not loading, broken props, or streaming issues.

If you are updating an existing resource, make sure to replace the old files correctly and clear cache if needed.
